Details On Zoolander Sequel Revealed

New details have surfaced giving some new insight into the Zoolander sequel.
Not long ago comedy actor Ben Stiller revealed some details on the new project, saying, “Where it’s at is we’ve completed the script, Justin Theroux and I, and handed it into the studio. Now the studio has the script and we’re at that point where we’re waiting to see what they want to do.”
The actor later added, “It’s ten years later and most of it is set in Europe. I don’t want to give away too much, but it’s basically Derek and Hansel ten years later – though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime.
“Their lives have changed and they’re not really relevant anymore. It’s a new world for them. Will Ferrell is written into the script and he’s expressed interest in doing it. I think Mugatu is an integral part of the Zoolander story, so yes, he features in a big way.”
But now Owen Wilson has revealed that Hansel’s modelling career has been seriously affected after suffering a disfiguring injury. Sounds extreme but I’m sure these comedy geniuses will be able to turn an injury into something hilarious.

The Fly Sequel Ready To Go

The sequel to the hit film The Fly is all ready to be made into a film, now it’s just up to the studio.
David Cronenberg has written the sequel to the Jeff Goldbloom classic and is now waiting to see if Fox is willing to make it.
The news came after Cronenberg was asked about rumours of a remake about the classicfilm, he said, “The Fly is not exactly a remake, it’s sort of a sequel, kinda.”
“Yeah, that was a thing. I’ve written a script of that, and I don’t know if that’s going to really happen, but that has to do with Fox.”
With all things considered this could go one of two ways for the new Fly movie. Either they’ll make the sequel, which would technically be The Fly 3, and lets be honest there is a high chance that they will considering all the remakes, reboots and sequels that the film studios are churning out at the moment. Or considering the negative reaction to the first sequel The Fly 2 they may just choose not to turn words into reality.
Its future is unsure at the moment but I’m guessing they’ll go for the first option.

Aronofsky Gets A Deal

Darren Aronofsky has struck a deal with Paramount for his new film project Noah.
The $130 million dollar project has been in development since 2007 and has been shopped around and received interest from a number of film studios, including Fox, before Aronofsky finally struck a deal with Paramount.
Recently Aronofsky told Empire the film would be "the traditional Noah story, but told in a serious way... more the sci-fi version than comedy...” and that is all that is known at the moment. Sounds quite interesting to say the least, I wonder how certain people would view a sci-fi-esque biblical story?
John Logan has signed up to help tidy the script up, and Aronofsky will be directing and producing alongside Scott Franklin.
No cast is currently confirmed but with the film now on fast track you can look forward to seeing this film around the Spring of next year, so it shouldn’t be long before the cast members names start springing up.

New Bettlejuice

News has surfaced that Warner Bros. are making a new Beetlejuice movie.

As part of a two-year first-look feature deal, David Katzenberg along with Seth Grahame-Smith have both signed on with the studio and one of the first projects they have been attached to is apparently Beetlejuice.
According to Deadline.com the film will not be a remake of the classic 80s black comedy created and directed by Tim Burton, but will instead be a reboot of the original.
Warner Bros. production president Greg Silverman told Deadline “We first got to know Seth through his fantastic work on Dark Shadows and it immediately became a priority to expand our relationship with him.”
“Seth introduced us to David, who greatly impressed us with the vision for KatzSmith from the very first meeting. We firmly believe in their talents and are extremely excited to welcome them to the Warner family.”
Well lets just hope that this is a good reboot and doesn’t completely ruin Beetlejuice altogether. Fingers crossed.

Abigail Breslin To Be Virgin Mary

Abigail Breslin has signed on to star in new indie comedy A Virgin Mary.

The news come a just a short while after Breslin was confirmed to star in another indie comedy, The Class Project, which will see her playing a murderous sister who decides to bump off her abusive mother.
It looks as though Breslin is trying to break away from the sweet and innocent child roles that made her famous and is taking advantage of her teenage years to establish herself as a true actress. A little Drew Barrymore, minus rehab.
The new film that will be written and directed by Beth Schacter, will see Breslin play a teenage Mary, who makes an agreement with her best friend that if they are both virgins by the time they reach 18, then they will have sex with each other.
The film which will also star Carter Jenkins as Mary’s best friend, Keke Palmer and Daryl Sabara.
The aim is to get the film shooting early next year.

Tucker To Star in The Silver Linings Playbook

Chris Tucker has nabbed himself a role in David O Russell’s The Silver Lingings Playbook.
The star is also considering another role in the Ben Stiller/Vince Vaughn comedy film Neighbourhood Watch.
This is a quite an unexpected move and looks to be a bit of a comeback, as Tucker hasn’t been seen in a movie since Rush Hour 3 and since 1998 his only acting roles have been in Brett Ratner franchise.
According to Variety, he’s pretty much locked into a deal to star in the drama film, which will see Bradley Cooper star as a former high school teacher who is institutionalised for depression. After his release he goes into the care of his mother and attempt to win back his ex-wife, with little success, all this goes on whilst he becomes involved with his equally troubled neighbour.
Tucker is in talks to play the role of Danny, who has been described as a friends of Cooper’s from the mental institution who breaks out on numerous occasions to visit him, and provide some fun and guidance.
As for Neighbourhood Watch he’s in talks to play Jamacrus, a recent divorcee who most likely signs on to the neighbourhood watch.
Nothing is in stone for either films at the moment but hopefully Tucker is finally making his movie comeback.

New Thriller in Affleck's Line of Sight

Ben Affleck is looking to direct, produce and star in new thriller film Line of Sight.

Affleck who is currently shooting his latest film Argo, a drama film based on a real life hostage situation, is currently in talks with film studio Warner Bros. about the film.
The film’s plot follows an elite commando squad who, whilst transporting cargo have to deal with a huge global threat. The film is currently being back by Joel Silver and was originally written by F Scott Frazier.
So far the film sounds like your traditional type of thriller movie, but the film’s unique selling point and a major hook for this film is that the story will mainly be told from the point of view of one of the main characters, almost in the first person. Which I’m assuming may not being Affleck considering he’s in talks to produce and direct the feature film.
There has been no confirmation yet about when the film will be shooting, but considering Affleck is only in talks at the moment then it could be some time, and it may not even be Affleck in the movie when all comes to fruition.

Hill Joins Neighbourhood Watch

Sci-fi comedy Neighbourhood Watch just entered a whole new realm of funny, as Jonah Hill has been confirmed as the latest cast signing.

Already on board for the comedy feature are Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Rosemarie DeWitt.
The comedy will see Stiller moving form the city to the quiet suburbs hoping to find some peace and quiet, and hoping hat everything will now become more dull. But things soon change when he joins a group of bored married men to form a neighbourhood watch group. Thing turn slightly weird and Stiller gets much more than he bargained for when the newly formed group discover an alien invasion plot. Expect some laugh out loud moments there then!
The new film is being overseen by the director of Hot Rod Akiva Schaffer and the script has been written by Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg.
From the sound of the cast and the writing team behind the film, this is a sure fire comedy hit, that I expect will be packed to the brim with laugh out loud moments.
