Review - Paul Weller - When Your Garden's Overgrown

Legendary rock star Paul Weller returns with 'When Your Garden's Overgrown', the third single from his latest album, Sonik Kicks. However, instead of releasing it as an ordinary single, he has released it as an EP with two new tracks not included on the album.
The EP's tracks, 'When Your Garden's Overgrown', 'We Got a Lot' and 'Lay Down Your Weary Burden', are three great songs with excellent guitar riffs and are definitely something fans will find themselves moving to at the next Paul Weller gig. The vocals are upbeat with a bit of melancholy thrown into the mixture to give the songs that extra something. However, despite their quality, the songs do tend to sound the same, and I doubt they'll set the charts alight.
That said, we all know what we are getting these days when we buy a Paul Weller single or album and that's good lyrics, great music and a brilliantly distinctive voice, and that's exactly what we have on this EP. Oh and Noel Gallagher features on bass guitar. It doesn't get much better than that.
