Review: Thomas Tantrum - Hot Hot Summer

Thomas Tantrum is an alternative indie band based in Southampton. The band first came to prominence in 2008 and boast famous fans such as Lily Allen. After spending much of that year touring with bands such as Dirty Pretty Things, The Futureheads and Glasvegas, they released their self-titled debut album Thomas Tantrum. Now they are back with the second single 'Hot Hot Summer' from their upcoming second album Mad By Moonlight.

'Hot Hot Summer' instantly kicks off with a catchy summer indie feel with uplifting guitar rifts and drumbeats. Lead singer Megan Thomas continues the song's infectious dance feel with soft vocals as she sing the cheery but at times a little sullen song sounding like a much edgier version of Ellie Goulding (which is always good).
All in all, this is a song I could definitely see myself listening to over the summer months, provided we are blessed with sunny weather. Although I did enjoy the song, I do feel as though this type of sound has been heard before, but don't let that put you off because, with that said, what haven't we heard before?
