Sex and the City 3

To all you Sex and the City fans out there who are hoping for a third instalment of Carrie and the girls, it looks like there could be hope.

Apparently there’s even a script for the film. When Sarah Jessica Parker showed up for an interview for her latest film I Don’t Know How She Does It she was presented with a ‘leaked’ page from the screenplay for Sex and the City 3.
The star was then made to read from the script page with Greg Kinnear by MTV’s Josh Horowitz.
Although there has been no confirmation from any of the stars of the movie or any one else involved with the series or first two movies I’m guessing that this may not happen, mainly due to the flack that Sex and the City 2 received.
However with there of the four main stars not really doing much, and the enormous fan base the show ahs around the world it could still make a large profit at the box office, so it just may happen.
But if it does they’ll have to do it soon, I mean the girls aren’t getting any younger are they.

Cotillard for Rust and Bone

Marion Cotillard is set to star in the new Jacques Audiard movie Rust and Bone.

After his film making success with the 2009 prison drama A Prophet, Audiard and his writing partner Thomas Bidegain have decided to base their latest screenplay on a short story collection by Craig Davidson.
The type of stories within Rust and Bone and set in a world of fighting dogs, prize fighters, sex addicts and gamblers, sounds dangerous but exciting doesn’t it.
The titular story in books, which I’m assuming will be the focal point of the film, focuses on a boxer who has to lean towards less legal fights due to the broken bones in his fingers.
There is currently no word yet about which tales will be adapted for the movie.
Also stepping up to star in the picture will be Celine Sallettte and Bouli Lanners.
Filming for the movie will begin in the next few months for 14 weeks in France and Belgium.

Eastwood to Unveil J. Edgar

Legendary Hollywood actor and director is to debut his new movie J. Edgar at the AFI festival.
The 25th annual AFI film festival will begin on November 3rd and the new film from the Academy Award winner will be premiered on the opening night.
The movie will see Leonardo Di Caprio portray the controversial FBI director J. Edgar Hoover.
Also staring alongside him will be Naomi Watts, Judi Dench and Armie Hammer.
With such a big star director and a cast of such talented actors, this film has all the makings for a brilliant piece of cinema.
After skipping other festivals such as Tornto, Venice and New York, it looks like this film will be the talk of the town very soon as any film by Clint Eastwood always gains a lot of attention, especially after such great film’s as Million Dollar Baby.
The film will be opening in selected theatres then on November 9th before going worldwide two days later.

Gemma Ward Joins Great Gatsby

Gemma Ward is the latest in a list of people to join the Great Gatsby.

Callan McAuliffe has also joined the cast of Baz Luhrmann’s film adaptation of the F Scoot Fitzgerald novel.
The film is to begin filming next month, but in the mean time Luhrmann has been filming the smaller parts of the movie, so all signs point to Ward and McAuliffe only having minor roles within the movie.
The feature film also features the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Isla Fisher, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Jason Clarke and Joel Edgerton. The film boasts quite the cast but given Luhramann’s track record with films I’m sure they were dying to be a part of this project.
There’s no word at the moment on who Ward will play, but it is speculated she will be playing the role of Catherine, The sister of Fisher’s character, whilst McAuliffe will be playing the younger version of DiCaprio’s leading role.
The script has been written by Luhrmann and his regular co-writer Craig Pearce, and is expected to be hitting our screens next year, and in 3D.

First The Rock Now Goliath?

Former professional wrestler Dwayne Johnson, known to fans as The Rock is in talks about joining Goliath.

The cinematic version of the David and Goliath story is being planned by the writer and director of The Exorcism of Emily Rose Scott Derrickson, and producers are currently talking with Johnson about the possibility of him playing the film’s villain.
Johnson would definitely be a good signing to the movie, after all he spent many years in a wrestling ring so he has the body to match the huge Goliath and he certainly was considered a bit of a warrior in the wrestling world, and theres no doubt that he could bring quite a big audience to this considering his wrestling fan based.
However the film may have to wait a while yet as Derrickson is currently preparing to start his new film Sinister, while Johnson is currently staring in G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation.
